How it works

Capitals are the seats of government, with the common alternatives accepted where a country has more than one or the name changed: Astana or Nur-Sultan, Kyiv or Kiev, Naypyidaw or Yangon, Pretoria, Cape Town or Bloemfontein, Sucre or La Paz, Kotte or Colombo.

Missed capitals appear at the end next to their country, so you leave knowing them. Best score stays in this browser only.

The country list is the usual 197: the 193 United Nations members plus Vatican City, Palestine, Kosovo and Taiwan. Continents follow the UN geoscheme, so Russia, Cyprus and Kosovo count as Europe, Turkey and the Caucasus as Asia, and Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean as North America.
